SAN FRANCISCO: Whatsapp is reportedly working on a brand new feature which will enable the users to add contacts on their phones via QR codes effortlessly.
As per a report on a fan website which closely follows Whatsapp beta called 'WABetaInfo', the new QR code scanning feature was seen on iOS beta for the first time and is now available on the beta version of the app on Android handsets. The android users using the latest beta version can find their customised QR codes in the section within the setting in the app, located in the top right side of the app.
The users who have already enabled the feature will now get to show their own QR codes to other users and even scan codes belonging to other accounts of WhatsApp.
Another feature is that the QR generated cotes can easily be revoked if the users choose to not share their contact details with someone else anymore, as per the confirmation provided by beta notes.
