How to Develop a Healthy Morning Routine

he start to a perfect day is usually a perfect morning. Well, not exactly perfect but definitely something that makes you smile and not grumpy when you wake up after sleeping like a baby. So, if you are a morning person and want to improve your routine or if you absolutely hate getting up in the morning but want to inculcate that in your life, either way, you are at the right place.

The only reason we create and follow a healthy morning routine is in order to keep our mind healthy. With the kind of fast-moving life that we are leading nowadays, it is so important to feed your mind with good thoughts and give it a fresh start when the day begins. Let us have a look at what some of these ways can be:

#1. Prepare a Journal

Sometimes planning your day in advance and jotting down how your day would look like on a piece of paper actually makes your mind clear and enables you to follow it. So, the first thing you do when you wake up after brushing your teeth, of course, should be to plan your day on that piece of paper. You will definitely feel lighter when you do that in addition to being in control of your day instead of just being pushed around by it.

#2. Exercise

Another very important part of your morning routine should be going for a run in the park or doing some yoga, going to the gym or a Zumba class or simply going on a walk. You can indulge in any kind of physical activity and the only reason we are asking you to do this is that it helps take the edge off things. You need to channelize the energy that is there within you in a positive manner before it turns into something negative and makes you scream on people/yourself throughout the day.

#3. Eat a Healthy Breakfast

We are usually asked by our mothers not to miss our breakfast but we usually end up ignoring them. The reason why you definitely should have something in the morning before leaving for school/work is that it gives you the energy and positivity needed at the beginning of the day. As for me, I get really angry when I am hungry, so people prefer not talking to me till after lunch.

#4. Drink Lemon Water

Before you even brush your teeth, you should get yourself in a habit of drinking some warm lemon water early in the morning. In the beginning, you won’t really like it but in a day or two, once you get into a practice of doing it, you will actually start realising its benefits. It keeps your stomach healthy, and also brings a glow on your face. In addition to this, it helps in immense weight loss. So many benefits by a glass of water, isn’t that a pretty good deal?

#5. Keep Yourself Informed

It is very important for you to just sit, relax, and read your newspaper properly instead of getting a peek at it while you are trying to catch that train or drive to the office. Sure, all those mobile apps are cool but the kind of information that you get out of a newspaper is unmatched. With the gadgets that we are surrounded by nowadays, we miss out on the importance of giving ourselves some time away from those mobile phones and tabs that we gaze at the entire day.

Sometimes, the lifestyle that our parents used to lead before technology took over and we became corporate slaves/lazy bums, life was actually beautiful. On a daily basis, it is very important for your mind to let it freshen itself up before it can start crunching data and handle stress for the rest of the day. Get up in the morning, go out and observe how beautiful your surroundings are. More so, prepare a routine, take care of your skin, feed your body with healthy food, your mind with good thoughts and begin your day on a positive note. YOU are important, take care of yourself!
