“For Good Heart’s Sake, Run, Jump, and Shake”
eart, as we all know is a vital organ for a human being to stay alive and healthy. If you have a healthy heart, you are just as likely to have a healthy body. Though World Heart Day is celebrated worldwide on 29th September, let us celebrate it a little early and discuss some tips on how you can keep your heart all smiles.
#1. Jog, Gym, Aerobics, Repeat!
I know that this does not rhyme at all but conveys the message pretty well. In order to remain active, it is very important to indulge yourself in any one of these activities on a regular basis. It is also important to make this activity a part of your daily routine and not miss out on it under any circumstances. It will be a little difficult to adapt to at first but trust me, once you get used to it, you will feel so much relieved and happier after a rigorous workout.
#2. Ditch the Junk
All the junk food and the sugar that we consume on a daily basis is much more harmful to our heart than we realize. So, if you want to keep your heart healthy, this is like the first baby step towards that goal. Ensure that you take a healthy diet and include as many fruits, vegetables, and cereals as possible. If you adopt this as your regular diet, you can also go ahead and cheat once in a while.
#3. Get a Sound Sleep
Can you imagine working 5 weeks a day without sleeping? Same is the case with your heart. In order to function properly and assist the other organs in keeping your body going, your heart needs your body to rest properly at least 7 hours a day without any sort of disturbance. In this busy life and competitive world, we have forgotten about our body needs which is why it is important to give proper rest to your body for it to keep competing and functioning.
#4. Relax Once in a While
These days, it has become really difficult for a person to find idle time in their busy schedules. Well, make that time. Your organs need to relax once in a while after stressing out for almost 12 hours a day. So, even if you are not getting that time, take some time out and go ahead to watch a movie or go on a walk, meet an old friend and laugh at old memories. Just do whatever brings a smile to your face but that will naturally get reflected on your heart’s health.
#5. Take a Break!
While you stress yourself out, it is equally important to love yourself and take yourself out on a vacation where you can relax your mind as well as body. Take some time off once in a while to cool off all the stress. Eat and sleep and do all that you have been missing out on while you are at it. You will come back not only happier but also much more efficient.
#6. Bring Out the Kid in You
It is not always good to act mature and be a grown-up. It is important that you do not let the kid in you die ever! Also, let that kid come out at times and go on that roller-coaster ride or that trek that you have been pushing off. Eat that pizza (in moderate amount) that you have been craving from a long time or go ahead and play a game on your play station or participate in that cricket match that you have been holding off. Do anything and everything that relaxes your heart and makes it happy which will, in turn, make you happy which is the ultimate goal.
Love yourself because if you don’t, then, nobody else will! So, take it a little easy on yourself because the way you treat yourself eventually affects your body. A healthy heart equals a healthy body! Good Day!
