MUMBAI: 'Gangs of Wasseypur' would have lost its essence if Manoj Bajpayee had not starred in it. Bollywood would have lost a gem if he had fallen prey to two accidents on the sets of the national award-winning movie '1971'.
In an Instagram post, Bajpayee revealed that he almost lost his life twice while shooting for this 2007 release. Sharing the poster of the film, he wrote, "Some memories of making a film don’t leave you!! 1971 is that film.winner of 2 national awards !! Loved every moment on the location in manali in extreme winter ...almost lost my life twice...can’t forget those 60 days of filming!! Written by piyush mishra directed by Amrit sagar manav and deepak made their debut with this one. #proudofthefilm."

The movie was directed by Amrit Sagar and received critical acclaims. It also won two national awards. '1971' featured Manoj Bajpayee, Deepak Dobriyal, Kumud Mishra, Manav Kaul, Ravi Kishan and many others.
Bajpayee was last seen in the 2019 release 'Sonchiriya' that also starred Bhumi Pednekar and Sushant Singh Rajput. Besides, he also played the central role in the hit Amazon Prime's original series 'The Family Man'.

He will be seen next in 'Suraj Pe Mangal Bhaari' that stars Diljit Dosanjh and Fatima Sana Sheikh in lead roles. He is also shooting for the second season of 'The Family Man'.
