MUMBAI: Sara Ali Khan, Dhanush and Akshay Kumar are all set to make a unique combination for Anand L Rai's next 'Atrangi Re'. It was speculated that Akshay will be having a cameo with Sara and Dhanush having the main screen. However, the director has refuted the rumors saying that the 'Housefull' star's role is a very special one.
Without revealing any major details of any character of the movie, Rai said, "It’s not a cameo, but a very special character that is important to the narrative."

Although he did state some concepts of the movie revealing that it will be shot first in Bihar and then will move to Madurai, mixing two Indian cultures. He said, "The title means ‘funnily weird’. So, I needed a cast that’d raise questions. All my characters are ‘funnily weird’ and it’s their emotional journey. It’s a great mix of two Indian cultures. We start shooting in a town in Bihar and move to Madurai after that. Now you know which cultures I’m talking about."
Anand L Rai's previous venture 'Zero', that also starred three superstars Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma, was a debacle at the box-office. Now, that he is bringing three big stars together again, he felt fortunate to bring them on board. He said, "I don’t see casting as a task you need to pull off. I look for partners who are as emotionally charged as me on the journey. I was fortunate to get these three on board."

The film is expected to go on floors in the month of March. This will be the first collaboration of all the three stars with each other and we are surely excited to see this 'Atrangi' combination. The movie will be released on 14th February 2021.
