MUMBAI: Former actress Zaira Wasim once again fell prey to trolling and backlash on the social media platform. This happened after she quoted a verse from the Quran regarding the locust attack India along with other country has been experiencing.
She posted the tweet on May 27 which read, "So We sent upon them the flood and locusts and lice and frogs and blood: Signs openly self-explained: but they were steeped in arrogance- a people given to sin -Qur’an 7:133 (sic)."

Unfortunately, the tweet caught the attention of many accounts which decided to troll the 'Dangal' actress. This eventually led to Wasim removing herself from social media platforms by deleting her Twitter and Instagram account both.

The hashtag '#ZairaWasim' began trending on twitter in no time and people began labelling her as a 'Hinduphobe' among many other disrespectful things.

Zaira last starred in Sonali Bose's 'The Sky Is Pink' alongside Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar. As the film was nearing its release, she announced that she will be quitting and leaving her acting career as it conflicts the beliefs of her religion. This also became a topic of controversy and trolling for the public.
