Coronavirus: More Than 3.2 Lakh Cases In India Now; Death Toll At 9,915

NEW DELHI: The total COVID-19 cases in India now stands at 3,20,922 as 11,929 new cases were detected in the past day. As per the data released by the website of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare today i.e. Saturday, June 14. The death toll also saw a rise in the last 24 hours as 311 deaths got reported due to the virus. The fatality rate of the country us now at 9,195.

However, the recovery rate has gone beyond active coronavirus cases. There are as much as 1,62,378 people who have been cured of the virus, whereas there are 1,49,348 active patients in the country.

The data gathered by the medical research body of ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research) has revealed that more than 55 lakh COVID-19 test has been carried out yet. In the last 24 hours,  almost 1.43 lakh samples were tested for detecting coronavirus.

Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India also reviewed steps to control the spread of the virus in the areas where cases are being detected in large numbers. During a review meeting along with senior ministers and officials, Modi also discussed increasing the testing for COVID-19 along with the number of beds and services which are required to efficiently handle the rising number of cases, especially in large cities.

As per the latest update by the Health ministry, Maharashtra continued to be the state with the most number of patients with 1,04,568 cases, then comes Tamil Nadu (42,687), followed by Delhi (38,958) and Gujarat (23,038).
