NEW DELHI: The total number of positive cases for the novel coronavirus has reached 649. While the Union Health Ministry reported the full recovery of 43 people, 13 have lost their lives across the country, thus, having 593 active cases so far.
Thursday marks the second day of the 21 days of country lockdown and it is expected that the numbers would not be increased if people follow the orders diligently. On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi imposed three weeks' lockdown of the whole country and has requested his countrymen to follow the same as this is the only method to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Jammu and Kashmir reported its first death due to the virus on Thursday whereas Goa reported its first three positive cases.
Globally, 4.71 lakh positive cases have been confirmed with the death of over 20,000 people. Italy and Spain are facing a major crisis as the numbers are rapidly increasing and their death tolls have crossed that of China (where the virus originated). The United States, the United Kingdom and France are other regions to have the worst impacts due to the pandemic. The outbreak of this deadly COVID-19 has greatly impacted stock markets and the global economy.
