Gujarat Cases Rise To 1,275; More Than 176 COVID Infected People Detected

GANDHINAGAR: Gujarat now has 1,275 total coronavirus cases. The state discovered 176 mew cases within the last 12 hours on Saturday, 18 Apri, which is the highest spike.

Before this, by Friday evening, Gujarat only had 1,099 COVID-19 positive cases.

Out of all the positive cases detected recently, the city of Ahemdabad has 142, Surat and Vadodara are at 13 each, Rajkot and Bhavnagar also have 2 each and Panchmahal and Anand Bharuch 1 each.

Jayanti Ravi, who is the principal secretary of the state's health and family welfare department in Gujarat said, ""Out of the total 1,136 active cases, the condition of 1,129 is stable while seven still are on a ventilator, their condition being critical."

The total cases, including the 176 found recently, Ahmedabad's total tally is 765, Surat is at 156, Vadodara at 152, Rajkot 30, Bhavnagar 28, Anand 27, Bharuch 22, Gandhinagar 17, Patan 15, Narmada 11, Banaskantha 9, Panchmahals 8, Chotta Udepur 6, Kutch, Botad and Mehsana with 4 each, Porbandar, Kheda and Dahod with 3 each, Gir-Somnath 2 and Jamnagar, Morbi, Sabarkantha, Mahisagar and Aravalli with one each.

Saturday also observed 7 deaths that happened in the state. Now Gujarat's death toll is at 48.

Out of the 7 departed, 4 were women with conditions like mental health issues, hypertension and kidney ailments.
