NEW DELHI: There are currently 4,778 ongoing cases of coronavirus in India, out of which 693 were reported in the last 24 hours. At least 1,445 cases out of the total are the ones related to Tablighi Jamaat that took place in Nizamuddin, Delhi from 13 -14 March 2020. The death toll is at 136. As per the Union health ministry, India is somewhere between stage 2 and 3 of the pandemic.
In Andhra Pradesh, around 300 individuals got tested positive for having coronavirus by 6 pm, on 6 April 2. The nodal officer of the state declared that there have been 37 new cases which got detected yesterday between 9 am to 6 pm. The highest number of positive cases in the area are from the Kurnool district (74 cases). Screenings are being held in clusters in the red zones of the state.

Meanwhile, in Madhya Pradesh, the total tally is at 256 and 23 new cases got reported in the last 12 hours. The city of Indore is at 151 cases with Bhopal at 61, six new cases got reported here. Apart from these major cities, 12 cases have been from Morana, 8 each from Jabalpur and Ujjain, 4 were from Khargone, 3 in Barwani and 2 each in Gwalior, Chhindwara and Shivpuri and 1 each from Betul and Vidisha.
Rajasthan also crossed the 300-mark in terms of patients affected with COVID-19. A total number of 35 new cases go reported in the state yesterday, taking the total tally to 301. Ten cases are from Kota, whereas 2 new cases got reported from Tonk, making the city's total 20. Jaipur is the city with the most cases at 100 and 8 new cases got reported yesterday. Bhilwara has 27 cases and Jhunjhuru has 27, as per Rohit Kumar Singh, additional chief secretary.
Himachal also observed 4 new cases and the state's total is 18 now. Out of these 18 patients, 11 were the ones who were the part of Tablighi Jamaat. The state also initiated new laws to avoid the spread of the virus. Any patients who attempt to spit on anyone will get a case of murder registered against them said DGP S.R. Mardi. The use and sale of bubblegum has also been banned in the state for the next three months.
Gujarat has a death toll of 12 and 146 COVID-19 positive patients in the state. The state government has also announced to hold maximum testing in 15 identified hotspots in the cities of Surat, Bhavnagar, Ahmedabad and Vadodra. Two new cases were detected in the state yesterday with one death as well. Ahmedabad has 64 cases followed by Surat (19), Gandhinagar and Bhavnagar (13 each), Vadodara (12), Rajkot (10), Porbandar (3), Kutch, Mehsana, Patan and Gir-Somnath (2 each) and Panchmahal, Chhota Udepur, Jamnagar and Morbi (1 each).
Maharashtra is the state with the most cases in the country with 868 total cases. Around 120 new cases got reported yesterday, as per health officials. Two hospitals, one from Pune and Mumbai each got sealed as 130 staff members were found to be positive there. Mumbai has 526 positive cases as 57 new cases got reported yesterday. Another 70 people have also recovered from the virus.

Almost 11 staff members from Delhi State Cancer Institue were also reported to be COVID-19 positive yesterday. Total affected staff is now at 18 and it includes 2 doctors. Apart from this institution, a few doctors belonging to AIIMS, Safdarjung and Mohalla clinics also got tested positive. Delhi has 523 active cases.
