The clarification came after the social media went into a frenzy after there were reports that the government is planning to impose a 3-month-long lockdown after the 21 days' lockdown gets over.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced nationwide complete lockdown for 21 days on 23rd March that started from March 24th at midnight. He appealed to his countrymen to stay at home as this will be the only method to combat the pandemic COVID-19.
"With folded hands, I request you to stay put wherever you are," said PM Modi adding that the citizens will get the daily basic necessities so they should not worry about that.
He also warned that if "we don't follow a complete lockdown for the coming 21 days, the nation will go back 21 years and many families will be devastated."
