MUMBAI: Ex-contestant of the recent season of the reality TV show Bigg Boss, Shefali Jariwala rose to fame when she appeared in the music video of the 2002 hit 'Kaanta Laga'. In a recent interview, the actress spilled the beans about how she ended up getting to star in the video and how suddenly it changed her life.

"Kaanta Laga happened absolutely out of the blue. I was outside my college when the directors of the album Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru spotted me there. They offered me the song. I was not too sure as I come from a family which only had professionals like doctors, engineers and chartered accountants. We had nobody in our family who had done even reportedly anything related to entertainment. I faced a lot of difficulties to convince my family as I was quite young also at that point," said Jariwala, while explaining how it all began.

She later talked about all the practice it took to perfect her skills for the video, "But of course Radhika and Vinay really helped me out and I did the song out of fun because I was excited to see myself on TV and of course the pocket money that was really important that time. I had to work really hard for the song as I didn't know how to dance. Radhika and Vinay worked really hard on me be it with rehearsals or grooming. When the song came out it was an instant hit and it was a dream come true."

Jariwala also states that she feels extremely proud of her work and there can't be any other "Kaanta Laga' girl other than her, "I feel great because people work so hard all their life to create an identity of their own and my first song itself created such a strong identity for me. There can't be another Kaanta Laga girl and it's just me. I feel I am very blessed and lucky that I did not have to struggle and my debut song gave me such a strong identity."
