Avalanche Hits Pakistan's Hill Station; 5 Killed And 7 Injured

ISLAMABAD: Five people lost their lives and seven got injured after an avalanche hit a hill station in the Abbottabad district of Pakistan. 

The Xinhua news agency reported that the avalanche hit the station on Tuesday night. All the seven injured in the incident have been admitted to the nearby hospital and some of them are said to be in a critical situation.

According to media reports of the country, several vehicles were also hit and over two dozen people went missing in the avalanche. It also triggered a landslide in the Nathia Gali resort of Abbottabad district. 

The reports also said that rescue work was underway to recover all the people who have been trapped from the ice heaps.
