MUMBAI: AR Rahman, the pride of India and Oscar-winning musician has expressed how much fun he had while producing the soundtrack of the upcoming film '99 Songs' and how "amazing" it was.
The legendary musician said, "I had such amazing time writing, producing and scoring '99 Songs', even though it is more work than usual. Some of the songs had to evolve with the character and the story, whereas some play as part of the soundtrack."
The forthcoming film, '99 Songs' is directed by Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy. Apart from producing the music in the film, Rahman has also donned the hat of a co-writer and producer of the film. The film will mark the debut of Ehan Bhat and Edilsy Vargas. Other major roles will be played by Aditya Seal, Lisa Ray and Manisha Koirala among others.

Sony Music India is the film's album distributor. This is not Rahman's collaboration with the company. They have worked together for projects like "Vande Mataram", "Rang De Basanti", "Guru" and "Ok Jaanu". On working with Sony again Rahman expressed, "Our team is excited to work with Sony Music again, carrying our relationship into 23 years. I hope you like the songs. I want to thank you all in advance for your support and love as always!"

The film has already been screened at 24th Busan International Film Festival At Bhusan, Korea. The screening took place within the Open Cinema category on 9 October 2019. The film revolves around a struggling singer and his journey towards becoming a successful music composer.
