Chhattisgarh Reports Its First COVID-19 Case

RAIPUR: The central state of India, Chhattisgarh reports its first case of the novel coronavirus. A young woman was tested positive for the virus with a travel history to London, confirmed the state's Health Minister, T.S. Singh Deo. 

Deo spoke to the media and alerted them saying, "It is important that people stay alert and careful. Try to avoid meeting people, avoid gatherings."

Sources in the Health Department informed that the woman, who hailed from Raipur, returned to India fro London along with her family. A Health Department team sent her blood sample for testing on March 17th after she fell sick. After she was tested positive on Wednesday, the young lady was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences here. 

The woman has been kept in an isolation ward and all her family members are undergoing medical examinations. The sources also said that the co-travelers of the woman are also being tracked.
