NEW DELHI: The Delhi borders will get sealed for the duration of a week, as per Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday, June 1. He, however, said that essential services, as well as the people with the passes, will be allowed to enter the capital city.
The Chief Minister said, "Delhi borders to be sealed for the next week. Essential services are exempted. We will make a decision again in one week to open borders after suggestions from citizens."

The order to seal the borders came a few hours after the state of Haryana opened its border for Gurgaon-Delhi as per the state's guidelines for Unlock 1.
When 'Unlock 1' was being announced, the Home Ministry had mentioned that there will no restriction on inter-state and intra-state travel for people and goods. In fact, no additional permission will be required for such travels or movements.
It also mentioned that if a union territory or a state wants to regulate the movement of people after consulting public health and its assessment of the situation, it must give wide publicity beforehand about the ban to placed on that particular movement and the procedures related to it which are to be followed.
Kejriwal also appealed to the public to give their suggestions by Friday via email or phone, for which he provided contact details.
