Entire Hospital Closed In Delhi As Nurse Tests COVID-19 Positive

NEW DELHI: A nurse belonging to the Hindu Rao hospital situated in North Delhi was found to be coronavirus positive. As a result, the entire medical facility has now been shut down, as per the officials. The hospital was operated by the NDMC (North Delhi Municipal Corporation) and has gotten shut temporarily for the purpose of sanitisation and contact tracing.

There are currently 2,625 cases in the country's capital and 111 new cases got reported recently with 1 fatality. This was revealed by the government authority of Delhi.

Commissioner from the NDMC, Varsha Joshi said, "Late Saturday evening, a nurse on duty in Hindu Rao Hospital, was found positive for COVID-19. Since she has been on duty in various locations within the campus over the last two weeks, we are closing down the hospital until we fully sanitise and complete contact tracing."

She further added that arrangements of the appropriate kind will be made for the patients who were admitted at the gynaecology ward.

"There appears to be definite negligence at some level here. We will have a thorough inquiry into this aspect," said commissioner Joshi.

Other NDMC Officials also revealed that a DBC worker's test report came contradictor,y so many individuals will get re-tested at the hospital again and the results will come next week.
