BHOPAL: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Madhya Pradesh dug up a --year-old case on Jyotiraditya Scindia and his family post his exit from Congress and entering in the opposition party, Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP).

The EOW seeks re-verification of facts about a complaint that was made years ago and had alleged that the Scindias falsified a property document in order to sell an undersized piece of land to the complainant who belonged to Gwalior. The land measured 6,000 sq. feet less than they had claimed.

Vendetta has apparently begun just 24 hours after Scindia joined the BJP on Wednesday to push the Congress government in MP to the brink of collapse.

An official said on Thursday evening, "Yes an order has been given for re-verification of the facts in the complaint of one Surendra Shrivastava."

EOW said that the complainant lodged a complaint against the Scindias on Thursday that they had falsified a registry document and sold him a piece of land in Mahalgaon back in 2009 that was 6,000 sq. feet less. The official added that Shrivastava had first filed a complaint with EOW on 26th March 2014. The case was investigated and was closed in 2018.

The official said, "Now as he has again petitioned us we will re-verify the acts in his complaint."
