NEW DELHI: When Congress' scion Rahul Gandhi intervened in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's reply to the Motion of Thanks to President's speech in Lok Sabha on Thursday, the latter took a jibe at the former calling him a 'tubelight'.
Just when Gandhi rose from his seat to speak in between Modi's speech, Prime Minister hilariously compared him to a tubelight for his belated response that came after 30-40 minutes of his speech.

"I was speaking for the last 30-40 minutes but it took this long for the current to reach there. Many tubelights are like this," said PM Modi as the Parliament erupted in laughter. However, what Rahul Gandhi said was gone unheard due to the uproar there.
Modi was responding to a comment made by Rahul Gandhi at an election rally in Delhi on Wednesday. "Narendra Modi is giving speeches, he will not be able to move out of his house in the next six months. The youth of India will beat him with sticks to make him understand that without employment, the country can never progress," said Gandhi.
In reply to this, Modi referred to him as 'Congress leader' and joked that 6 months time is enough for him to become stick-proof. He said, "I heard a Congress leader say that the youth will hit Modi with sticks in six months. I have decided that I will increase my frequency of 'Surya Namaskar' so that my back becomes so strong that it can bear the hit of so many sticks."
"For the past 20 years, I have heard a lot of abuses and been gaali-proof. Now, I will make myself danda-proof," he added further.
