There will be an arrival ceremony in order to welcome the flame later in the day but the scheduled performances by the local students have been cancelled due to the fear of coronavirus outbreak.
The flame will be displayed in three northern prefectures which were hit by the earthquake and tsunami back in 2011 before the start of the torch relay on 26th March from J-Village at Fukushima.
This torch relay will begin on March 26th and will be concluding with the lightening of the Olympic cauldron at the opening ceremony of the Tokyo games, which is scheduled on July 24th.
