NEW DELHI: Coronavirus outbreak has taken a toll on the whole world and every activity has come to a stop. Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma recently expressed his concern over the same and has asked his countrymen to take all the precautionary measures advised by the medical staff and stay safe.
In a video that he posted on his Twitter account and Facebook account, Sharma said, "Last few weeks have been tough for all of us and the world has come to a standstill which is very sad to see. The only way we can come to normalcy is by all of us coming together. And we can do this by being a little smart, a little proactive, knowing our surroundings and as and when we get any symptoms, inform your nearest medical authorities."

The governments have advised everyone to maintain social distance and has ordered closures of schools, colleges, malls and cinema halls in many states so as to prevent social gatherings.
Rohit said, "It’s because we all want our kids to go to the school, we want to go to the malls and we all want to watch movies in the theatres."
He then applauded the efforts of all the medical professionals throughout the country who are risking their lives to save others. He said, "I appreciate the efforts of all the doctors and the medical staff across the world who have put their lives on risk while taking care of the people who have tested positive with coronavirus."
"Last, but not the least, my heart goes out for people who have lost their lives and their families. Take care, be safe," he concluded.

The scheduled 3-match ODI series of India and South Africa was canceled following the worsening conditions in the country as well as in the world. IPL 2020 has also been postponed so as to ensure the safety of everyone associated with the event and also have the foreign players as the visas have been suspended till mid-April.
