Mi launched two series of smart TVs. The first series ran on patch wall OS while the second ran on Android OS. Both were missing Netflix and amazon prime support that any smart TV already had. Is the problem solved now? Let's find out.

People bought the smart LEDs from Mi because of its attractive price and the features offered. The quality was found out to be good true but as people bought these TVs they found out a big turn off that was NO AMAZON PRIME/NETFLIX support.

The users' complaint to Xiaomi about this and even protested against this through tweets and comments stating How is a TV smart if it does not even support the basic apps that are a pre-requisite for the majority of the users.

Xiaomi to this replied that they are working on it and they will soon release an update to give the support for these two apps but they didn't, until now.

Xiaomi has released an update for both the series of their televisions. The update was based on Android Pie and with the latest security patch update, they not just updated the android tv series to a new version of android but also gave an android update to their old lineup which was patchwall based.

Yes, you heard it right they moved their patchwall Tvs to android too.

This update also installed the official Amazon Prime video app which was also working fine. So the update gave the users amazon prime compatibility.

Now, what about Netflix support? Users tried installing Netflix Android TV app from third-party app stores like "Aptoide" and everybody was shocked when they found out that Netflix app also ran smooth and worked just fine.

Xiaomi has also announced that Netflix will be officially supported and will be available for download from the play store itself and further details about this will be revealed in their Smart living event which is scheduled for 17th September 2019.
