MUMBAI: Bajaj Auto, the renowned 2 wheeler and 3 wheeler producer reported that their total sales decreased by 70% for the month of May 2020. This also includes exports.
As per the automobile company, the total sales for May fell from 4,19,235 units to 1,27,128 units compared to the units sold in May 2019.

Likewise, the sales on the domestic level were at 40,074 units for this year compared to May 2019 when the sale was 2,35,824. The sales dropped by 83%.
The overall exports of Bajaj Auto also declined by 53% from 1,83,411 to 87,054 units which got shipped out in the month of May during the year 2019.
The total 2 wheeler sales of the company also suffered a low blow as the total sales dropped by 69%. In the year 2019 during May, the company had sold 3,65,068 units. However, this year for May, Bajaj sold 1,12,798 units.
Commercial sales for vehicles of the company also decreased by 74%. In May 2019 the company managed to sell 56,167 units but for May 2020, the company merely sold 14,330 units.

The automobile sector has suffered massively due to the coronavirus pandemic. Hopefully, with the announcement of the unlocking phase by the government, this will return to normal with passing time.
